Russian aerial strikes have damaged bridges over the Dnipro River in Kyiv, disrupting traffic in parts of the Ukrainian capital.
Ukrainian authorities said the Northern Bridge was damaged in the latest attack. Other bridges in Kyiv had also been hit during the previous two days, causing major traffic disruptions across the city.
The Associated Press reported that at least six people were killed in the latest Russian attacks in Ukraine. Local authorities said five people were killed and more than 40 injured in Kharkiv. Claims from the parties to the conflict cannot be independently verified in every case.
The strikes came amid an ongoing Russian campaign targeting Ukrainian infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities also reported damage to residential buildings and other civilian facilities.
The latest developments add to pressure on Ukraine and its European partners as the European Union and Germany continue discussions over support for Ukraine and the wider European security situation.
