Washington sets Nov. 10–11 Ukraine-Russia talks in Abu Dhabi

A new round of US-mediated talks between Ukraine and Russia is scheduled for Abu Dhabi on Nov. 10–11, with Washington seeking to move discussions on security arrangements and de-escalation forward, US envoy Steve Witkoff said Monday.

The negotiations are expected to take place at working level. Witkoff and US lead negotiator Jared Kushner are expected to represent Washington. Before the Abu Dhabi meeting, American negotiators plan to meet officials from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union and NATO in Brussels to discuss security guarantees for Kyiv, Europe’s post-war security framework and support for reconstruction.

The announcement follows Witkoff’s recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg. The agenda is also expected to include humanitarian measures and steps towards ending the war. Moscow and Kyiv remain far apart on key terms, leaving the prospects for a breakthrough uncertain.
