The United States plans to bring Russian and Ukrainian representatives together in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11 for a new round of trilateral talks, US special envoy Steve Witkoff said on Monday.
Washington expects Witkoff and lead negotiator Jared Kushner to represent the US side. The agenda is expected to cover steps toward ending the war, de-escalation, post-war security arrangements and humanitarian issues.
Before the meeting, US officials are due to consult counterparts from France, Germany, Britain, the European Union and NATO in Brussels on security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s future security framework and reconstruction support.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to another round after meeting Witkoff in St Petersburg about two weeks earlier, according to the announcement. Moscow and Kyiv remain far apart on the terms of a settlement, and the planned talks do not yet indicate that an agreement is close.
