Ukraine has introduced emergency power restrictions in Kyiv as Russian attacks continue to put pressure on the country’s energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian authorities said the latest restrictions were necessary after attacks damaged parts of the power system. The measures affect households and businesses as operators work to balance electricity supply and demand.
The disruptions come alongside continued attacks on transport infrastructure in the capital. Ukrainian officials have warned that damage to critical facilities could complicate preparations for the winter months.
Kyiv has repeatedly called on international partners to provide additional air-defence systems and ammunition to protect energy infrastructure and major cities.
The Ukrainian government has also urged residents and businesses to prepare for possible further interruptions as the authorities assess damage and restore affected facilities.
